Diego Vites (O Grove, 1986) graduated in Fine Arts from the ULL in 2009. Together with other artists, he founded "El Apartamento", a production centre located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (winning project of the Off Biennial of Art and Landscape of the Canary Islands 2009), where he produced the installations that were later exhibited in the Sala Cabrera Pinto and the TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes as part of the group exhibition "25 pies. Orientaciones and the individual exhibition "Buhardilla" respectively. Co-founder of FAC Peregrina, Furancho de Arte Contemporánea.
His work is part of the Cycle of Exhibitions Afluentes, La figuración en el arte gallego desde los años Sesenta; it could also be seen at MARCO de Vigo in the exhibition Veraneantes.
He has carried out several contemporary art residencies in Ecuador, Mexico and Argentina. In 2017 he carried out the project Historiógrafa Tigua in Ecuador and won the Novos Valores prize awarded by the Diputación de Pontevedra. In 2018 he started GÜiTA, in the SOLAR Acción Cultural residence in Tenerife. He returns to Galicia and is part of the Caneca Filmes team, making the documentary TIGUA and in charge of the audiovisual and plastic part of the project Unha Gran Burla Negra Creatividade populare e memoria do Prestige [2002 - 2019] . In 2021 he joined the collective NEG (Nova Escultura Galega), making the first exhibition of the collective at the CIAJG Guimarães in the context of the Colosso project.
